A little preview of what is to come

It has been a busy week unpacking from the show and getting all the post show orders out. It has also been a chance to have a look at everything that is coming in in the next few months.
Two of the reps came 'round today, Adam who was showcasing the new QBE designs and Shane who had Moda, Charles Parsons and QH textiles. What fun. I love selecting fabric!

Here are some previews of the fabrics that are coming in.
Judy also came around showing what she was making with her Charisma Jelly roll. She is working on the Diamond Jelly Roll pattern from Fig tree quilts.

More fabrics from the Charisma range. We have 3 jelly rolls available now with the rest arriving with the fabric in September.

New logo & more

Unpacking, counting and packing – the fun of tidying up after a show. In between times we have also been working on a new logo and a new design for the site. The logo is pretty much finalized now.

We also have the pretty headers and footers to go with it and new pattern covers. We are still finalising the newsletter layouts.
We have also started working on the changes that need to happen to the website with the new graphics as well as taking the opportunity to do some tidying up sorting of things that have needed fixing for a little while.

Sydney Show

It's been a busy week for us at the Sydney Show (photo above). Judy has been having fun with her hexagon classes (below), and her kaleidoscope demonstrations. I've been showing the log cabin rulers which people are also enjoying -- a great tool for making log cabins quick and easy.

Sue's Willowberry Winter quilt is drawing a lot of praise and the new paper pieces are proving very popular.
We had the Quilt and Craft Expo this weekend. This is our trade show - the fabric importers have come back from the Portland Quilt Market with plenty of fabulous fabric for us to see. Judy, Kristy and I spent nearly two full days looking at all that was around.

We have plenty coming - Jelly rolls plus some wonderful Moda ranges. I was particularly taken by the bistro range - it must be the caffeine addict in me. We also ordered the new three sisters range - they have such lovely reds! Kristy and Judy both loved some oriental ranges from Timeless Treasures so we'll be getting those in shortly.

We will also be getting in some Judy Rothermel reproductions for lovers of the reproduction style, civil war dressing gowns II, Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum Collection III and Sturbridge Village Greens.

We were also thrilled to win the Best Business NSW award at the show.

Willowberry Winter

We launched our latest Block of the Month - the beautiful Willowberry Winter Designed by Sue Daley.

It's been a busy weekend. Saturday saw Chris and I busy packing the crates for the Sydney show - which is just over two weeks away. They are looking much healthier now all chock a block full of fabric. Ann is still busy cutting, folding and tying all of our new fat quarter bundles together.

Sunday I had the chance to work on my fat quarter quilt featuring the pretty fabric by Susan Branch. It has been ages since I had the chance to quilt. I have been stretching myself

We are in the process of upgrading the shop software so there were a couple of hiccups on Friday and over the weekend. Hopefully they have all been fixed now and there are no more dreaded 404 errors. Thanks to those of you who let us know about the problems.
