A couple of lovely parcels arrived yesterday. Two more pretty Jelly roll patterns and two big fabric parcels from Kennards & Kennards. There are some pretty country florals, more of the Country Charm Roses and some cute novelty prints - including some very funky cars. I haven't got any further designing Cameron's quilt but I think it will be animals.

Plenty of projects
Cameron has received such lovely well wishes from everyone. I have been losing a fair bit of time each day just staring at him. It is amazing how quickly they change.
I have been talking to Robyn from Patchwork and Stitching about some projects for their upcoming issues. I am planning to make a quilt for Cameron that will go in Patchwork and Stitching. Tim from Llyod Curzon has sent me a a lovely pack of fat quarter flannels from their Woolies Light range. They have been with me about two weeks now and I'll use some of the fabrics from that for Camerons quilt I will also make a ladies quilt for Quilter Companion. The headers for the Woolies flannel also arrived today. I am going to make a double/queen size mans' flannel quilt for Homespun so I'll have to pick out the colours for that in the next couple of days.
I have had a change to do some sewing the past few days and I have almost finished binding the Summer Fresh quilt which is good as it is due in next week.
We have also got more of Sally Giblin's patterns in. Her patterns have been really popular since we started stocking them a month ago. They will be loaded up shortly and I have been busy getting a number of the advertisements sorted out.

Back at home
Well Cameron and I returned from the hospital on Tuesday. It was lovely to get home.
Things have been busy since we've got back. Adam came by and I had a look at a Kennard and Kennads new ranges. I ordered some great Dinosaur fabric as well as some more of the Country Charm Roses and some more lovely country florals.
I have also found some lovely wool blanketing which I am happy to get in if anyone wants. It is beautiful and soft. Plus I ordered some silk ribbon. One day I'll find the time to get that loaded up on the site.

Welcome Cameron Contos
Here is our latest project. We are thrilled to welcome Cameron Robert Contos into our family. Cameron was born 13:48 yesterday. He is 3.2kg and 49cm long.
I got quite a few diamonds pieced while waiting for the induction to take but once it did it was all over within 2 hours.

Not long now
I have spent the week tidying up the store and organising everything so hopefully Ann can find her way around while I am in the hospital. I go in Friday unless he comes earlier. I have three bags packed, one for the delivery, one for the hospital stay and one full of projects that I am rather optimistic that I will get finished (or at least some time to get into). I have got the binding onto my summer fresh quilt so that is a good start.
I have also had the chance to chat to a couple of the designers, Sue Daley and Sally Giblin and there are plenty more wonderful patterns on the way.
I have also been finishing off some projects. Two were sent off for Handmade's Quick Christmas Edition. I have been having fun with my nieces and nephews making Christmas decorations. This on is by Callum.
It has also been a great opportunity to get some fun things loaded onto the site. The bamboo batting from the show has been loaded up. This is so soft and silky, it will made wonderful inners for quilts. I have also got the lamifix loaded up. This nifty coating is like iron on plastic. It is great for bags and home decorating projects, as you can just wipe it down to keep it clean.

Getting Ready for Baby
With less than two weeks until little Tiberius joins us in the big world, I have been busy getting the shop in order so that Ann can take over while I am in hospital. I have also been busy getting all of my projects together. I'm sure I can buy everything else I need at the hospital. They have a great pharmacy, bookshop and cafe but they don't have a quilting or needlework store and I couldn't bear to be stuck without something to do. Last time I got an amazing amount of smocking and wool embroidery done. I have just ordered some more silk ribbon so I might make him a blanket while I am there.
Here are my Japanese tumbling blocks. They are nice and portable for Doctor's offices and the like. I have about half my blocks tacked. I don't think they will be done anytime soon but you never know.

Fabulous flannel
We had a flannel sale over the weekend. It was really fun putting packages together for everyone. It is such a wonderful time to be working with these warm fabrics and I was thrilled to see the start of some beautiful projects. We have also receive some lovely e-mails from people sharing their projects. I am always inspired when people send photos of their completed projects.

Playing with Paper
We have just got the playing with paper packs loaded up. How cute are these! Each pack come with:
- Pre-cut papers (50 of each shape needed for the design)
- Perspex template of each shape for rotary cutting your fabric.
- Design layout
- Instructions
in a cute little bag to keep all the pieces together.
Now I just need some time to get piecing (and to finish my japanese diamond & star project). I really want to get onto Pack 13 (above).
